The fund is led by the General Shareholders Assembly with representatives of numerous professional institutions and cultural associations (Urban Planning Institute, DESSA Architecture Centre, Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia, among others), faculties (Faculty of Architecture, Department of Landscape Architecture), municipalities, and sponsors; with the current major of Ljubljana presiding as its chairman. The fund's assembly annually selects the professional jury of various backgrounds and generations, so to impartially grant the Plečnik Award to the best project.
Alongside its general responsibilities, the Board of Directors of the Plečnik Fund with its president is also liable for the preservation of Plečnik's cultural heritage.
