The Department of Geography at the University of Ljubljana has a long tradition. The Department offers 2 study programs, both pedagogic and non-pedagogic, and with optional combination with another two-disciplinary study programme. The PhD in Geography is offered as a part of interdisciplinary doctoral programme, offered at the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences.

Background

The Department was established in 1919, the same year as Ljubljana's University. The thirty-two staff members, both pedagogic and non-pedagogic, deal with around 500 students, at a graduate and postgraduate study programme.

The Department also houses the largest geographical library, which is a part of Faculty of Arts Central Humanities Library.
