KULT3000
Archival article
KULT3000 in Ljubljana opened in 2013 with an aim to promote culture, networking and cultural tourism. It is part of a growing network of similar information centres run by the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia. The venue in Ljubljana is located in the smallest house at the former barracks complex, called Vratarnica (Gatekeeper's house). It offers space for various events by the cultural producers located at Metelkova and animates the large outdoor area within the museum quarter. Its programme is being outlined together with the Ministry of Culture, the owner of the venue. A KULT3000 centre in Monošter (Hungary) has also been set up to assist numerous Slovene minority cultural programmes.
Activities
KULT3000 is surrounded by three major national museums and located in close proximity to the alternative Metelkova mesto Autonomous Cultural Centre. Its main challenge is to connect the diverse agents active in the area of Metelkova Street, which has in recent years become the largest cultural quarter in the city.
The venue hosted a number of events organised by the Creative Europe Desk Slovenia, Motovila Institute.
