The homestead of Ciril Kosmač, a famous Slovene novelist, dramatist, translator, screenwriter, and the author of the popular novels Tantadruj and The Ballad on Trumpet and A Cloud, was transformed into a museum complex in 2003. The homestead, located in the idyllic village Slap ob Idrijci, is run by the Tolmin Museum and is available to visit by advance appointment. Each Sunday there is a guided tour of the memorial museum and its collections on the writer most known for his social realism and folk themes. The year 2010 has been devoted to Ciril Kosmač, several theatre and literature events are taking place throughout the year.

The homestead is one of the stops on the Kosmač School Trail aimed for school children and developed as a sightseeing tour at the Dušan Munih Primary School in Most na Soči. The learning path and the homestead were included in the international project "Genius Loci Network" (1999–2002), in which the Municipality of Tolmin participated as one of 5 partners in a cultural heritage economic development project in the regions of Zaragoza and Granada (ES); Florence (IT); Wiederstedt (DE); and Tolmin (SI) in order to maintain or create permanent jobs.
