In line with EBU directives, RTV Slovenia established its Multimedia Centre at the end of 2001. Its main goals are the development of multimedia applications, interactive support to radio and television broadcasting, and developments in the field of multimedia and training. MMC also manages RTV's Internet and Teletext services, subtitling for deaf people and video pages. It manages the Discography Unit and also undertakes a wide range of projects including the main RTV website with news, audio and image downloads on demand plus various thematic portals including Kultura, e-education, a wap portal, a sport portal, blogs and internet forums.

International co-operation

The Multimedia Centre is one of the 21 worldwide partners of P2P-Next consortium. Peer-to-peer (P2P) is a project coordinated by the Technical Research Centre of Finland, based in Tampere. The P2P-Next platform extends the notion of conventional multimedia distribution and focuses on building a more broad distribution of radio and television programmes, movies, music, ring tones, games, and various data applications to the general public.
