The ŠTUK Student Event Centre is a popular venue for cultural events aimed at the student population of the university city of Maribor. Originally constructed in 1984 as a movie and theatre venue it was renovated during the 1990s, and equipped with a new sound and lighting system in 2003. The hall now offers high-quality facilities for the presentation of the performing arts, especially popular music concerts and student events aimed for a broader, less demanding audience.

Alongside regular film screenings, the ŠTUK Student Event Centre programme offers a variety of music and easy-living events: traditional “Balkan” parties, regional student clubs presenting local guest bands, student DJ-discotheques parties and fashion shows, but also alternative music evenings, house and techno music, hip hop and pop-rock concerts with international guests. The centre also hosts theatre performances by students of the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) of the University of Ljubljana during the annual Maribor Theatre Festival. ŠTUK Hall is also the main venue for student parties in Maribor.

Štuk has a concert hall which is equipped with high-quality audio equipment and lighting effects and can accommodate up to 1000 visitors and also another larger space with atrium and summer terrace, which functions as a student café during the day and turns into a small disco club at night.
