The [[Emzin Magazine Photography Competition]] initially called Photography of the Year Competition is an annual Slovene photography project, which has been organised by [[Emzin Cultural Institute]] since 1993. A jury of experts presents three awards for auctorial photograph and one for reportage, and selects the entrants’ finest works for exhibition. The call for submissions to the Competition is announced in November and is open to Slovene photographers of different generations, to amateur as well as professional photographers dealing with various contents, formats and techniques. Winning photographs and a selection of other entries are exhibited at [[Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre]] in the following February-March.

For the Emzin Magazine Photography Competition 2005 the jury considered 392 anonymous portfolios (which amounted to 2,460 photos). Up to 2006 the first prize had been bestowed on the following photographers: Marko Radovan, Tomaž Gregorič, Borut Peterlin, Jure Breceljnik, Aleksandra Vajd, Tomo Brejc, Tomaž Lunder, Sebastjan Kurmanšek, Mojca Janželj Tomažic, Aleš Gregorič, Jan Rapoša and Tanja Verlak.

The 2010 jury was comprised of AP photographer Darko Bandic, Magnum Agency photographer Antoine D’Agata, EMZIN director [[Metka Dariš]], curator at [[Museum of Architecture and Design]] [[Cvetka Požar]], and photographer [[Klavdij Sluban]].

The Emzin Magazine Photography of the Year Competition initially called Photography of the Year Competition is an annual Slovene photography project, organised by Emzin Institute of Creative Production since 1993.

A jury of experts presents three awards for art photography and one for reportage, and selects the entrants' finest works for exhibition. The call for submissions to the competition is announced in November and is open to amateur as well as professional Slovene photographers of different generations who deal with various contents, formats, and techniques. The winning photographs and a selection of other entries are exhibited in the first floor foyer of the Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre usually in February and March.
