[[Radio Koper-Capodistria]] is the radio programme unit of the [[RTV Slovenia Regional Broadcasting Centre Koper-Capodistria]], which has around 300 employees. It broadcasts two programmes - one in the Slovene language and the other in Italian - and is received in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Slovene Littoral and Istria. The Italian-language radio programme complies with the institutional rights of the Italian minority in Slovenia to be informed in their native language.

Besides international news and news from Slovene political, economic, social and cultural life, the station focuses on minority community events and news. It also features numerous cultural programmes, including Spazio attualita' cultura - Oddaja o kulturi which focuses on current cultural events. There are also shorter news items on minority schools, youth literature, theatre and cinema. Weekly programmes are prepared by pupils and students.

Radio Koper is the radio programme unit of the RTV Slovenia Regional Broadcasting Centre Koper-Capodistria, which has around 120 employees. The centre broadcasts two programmes – one in Slovenian language and the other in Italian (Radio Capodistria) – and is received in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Slovene Littoral, Istria, and coastal Slovenia.


The predecessor of Radio Koper was established in 1949 as Radio of the Yugoslav zone of Trieste. Originally it was broadcast in Slovenian, Croatian, and Italian languages. After 1954 it became a part of Radio Ljubljana (today's Radio Slovenia) and transmission was broadcast in Italian and Slovenian only. The Radio has studios in Koper and Nova Gorica, it also regularly collaborates with Slovene radio stations and stations from Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, and even Australia.
