Housed in a 19th-century Trbovlje burgher house, the main museum holds a large collection on the development of mining in the region. In 1996, the upper floor was converted into a gallery to house the museum's fine arts collection, mostly of works by sculptor [[Stojan Batič]] (1925–2015), including his ''Miners''' and ''Explosion'' Cycles.

The Zasavje Museum public institution also manages the [[Hrastnik Museum]] and the [[Memorial House of the Founding Congress of the Communist Party of Slovenia in Čebine]] and offers visits to the ''in situ'' miners' housing collection in the former miners' colony Njiva.

Established in 1986, Zasavje Museum serves the three municipalities of Zasavje: Trbovlje, Zagorje and Hrastnik. Housed in a 19th-century Trbovlje burgher house, the main museum holds a large collection on the development of mining in the region. In 1996, the upper floor was converted into a gallery to house the museum's fine arts collection, mostly of works by sculptor Stojan Batič (1925–2015), including his Miners' and Explosion Cycles.
