− | The [[Young Playwrights Competition]] is aimed at stimulating young writers to write for the theatre, in the belief that new drama is of the utmost importance for an evolving and relevant theatre which tries to reflect and contemplate upon the recent state of the society and culture in which we live. The competition is open to playwrights under 35 years of age. The only other basic rule of the competition is that works have to be written originally in the Slovene language. The successful playwright is given a financial award, plus a commission of his/her play to be performed in the second part of [[Ptuj City Theatre|Ptuj City Theatre's]] next season.
