The Veronika Award for the best poetry collection of the previous year has been bestowed annually since 1997 by the Municipality of Celje. The award is donated by Fit media company. It was named after Veronika of Desenice, wife of Count Frederick II of Celje. The award ceremony takes place in Celje during the summer events called Veronikini večeri ("Veronika's Evenings").
The most recent Veronika Award winners have been Jože Snoj, Milan Dekleva, Taja Kramberger, Tone Pavček, Ervin Fritz, and Andrej Medved.
