Zavod Big - Creative Industries of SE Europe is a company that publishes Hiše magazine, organises the annual Month of Design with its National Design Awards and, in the last years, also the eminent Big Architecture Festival along with the Hiše Awards exhibition and ceremony. Furthermore, Zavod Big is a marketing strategy for all the mentioned events and publications, including the web Big Design Store and a web collection of a wide range of international awards – All Design Awards. Last but not least, Zavod Big is an idea, growing and evolving under different names and the same vision: to reach business through the promotion of creative production within the frameworks of fashion, architecture, design, art & culture, and lifestyle.

Background

Since its establishment in 2001 the company has well positioned itself on the market. With a target to become one of the leading publishers and design-event managers of the region, Zavod Big brought to life the great, yet shortlived, magazine Kontrast (2006–2008) to outline and disperse the creative strength, passion and exotica of SE Europe. These ideas were described with exact words "Very new. Very independent. A window to south-eastern Europe. The view on creative energy. Output. Production. Striking contrasts. Intense mix. The unique European mosaic." were later accumulated under the name Big Creative Industries, and have been gradually renamed to Creative Industries of SE Europe.
