Vetrinjski dvor [''Vetrinj mansion''] has a history dating back to the 13th century, when it was used as a administrative seat of the Vetrinj monastery's estates. A few centuries later it was substantially enlarged and given its contemporary baroque look. In 18th century Vetrinjski dvor was passed to the local gentry and for a time hosted the first Maribor theatre. In 19th century, the house was used by various rich traders and craftsman, each of whom slightly adapted the house to his needs.

The programme of the venue is set into two parts. There is the so called programme use, which features four cultural producers who have been given their places on the account of their programme at the public call. Currently, these are Kulturni klub Dvorec (kaj ima), Zavod Mars Maribor, Društvo Hiša! - Center grafičnih umetnosti and Guest Room Maribor.

Vetrinjski dvor is a multifunctional venue, operated by Narodni dom Maribor and located in a renovated Vetrinje Mansion in the historical centre of Maribor. Its main goal is to offer support to the regional non-governmental organisations and facilitate their cultural programmes and various cultural production models. A varied set of production spaces is so on disposal for independent creators, artistic projects, festivals and other cultural initiatives.


History

Vetrinjski dvor [Vetrinj mansion] has a history dating back to the 13th century, when it was used as a administrative seat of the Vetrinj monastery's estates. A few centuries later it was substantially enlarged and given its contemporary baroque look. In 18th century Vetrinjski dvor was passed to the local gentry and for a time hosted the first Maribor theatre. In 19th century, the house was used by various rich traders and craftsman, each of whom slightly adapted the house to his needs.

In 1945, the building was nationalized and later extensively renovated between 2007 and 2010. After that, it was used as the seat of the management of Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012 and in 2013 given to vodeje Narodni dom Maribor, who have given it its current conception.
