Film selection
The festival lasts for only three days (with an additional pre-event) and has a rather limited budget, so the number of presented feature movies is as of now still under ten. Some of these were Before Sunset (Richard Linklater, US, 2004), Drinking Buddies (Joe Swanberg, US, 2013), Hungry Man (Philip Martin, FR, 2013), Narco Cultura (Shaul Schwartz, MX, 2013), Submarine (Richard Ayoade, UK, 2010), tea Time (Maite Alberdi, CL, 2014) and What a Wonderful World (Anatol Durbală, MD, 2015). Alongside these, short movies present an important festival feature and are usually done in collaboration with other festivals and institutions.
Collaborations
In presenting a programme of animated features, Film Mixer collaborates with Animateka International Animated Film Festival. The best short films from the Croatian Tabor Film Festival and the K3 International Short Film Festival have been also shown, whith the Slovenian production was covered by the Kraken Society (who otherwise organise the short film festival FeKK). The best Slovenian music videos were curated by the web-portal Podoba-glasba. One of the programme features was also a night long screening of short films accompanied by improvised music. As for the latter, the main festival co-producer, Layer's House, also takes care of the music programme.
Another collaboration is the Odprto platno [Open screen] project, which is done together with KUD Subart and Legit Films and has a public call for movies on certain given topics. Best films made at the MUVIT/6×60 movie-making marathon are also presented.
