The institute has a manifold of archive collections (documents, letters, photographs and tapes) and a collection of emigrant periodicals available for the public. The Institute's separate lending library holds research publications (monographs, proceedings and journals) on international migration and a collection of literary works created by Slovenian emigrant writers.
Publications
The Institute has been publishing its research-based monographic editions in the series Migrations since 2001.
Since 1990 it publishes a biannual Dve domovini Journal ("Two Homelands"), the main scientific review on migration studies which is available also on-line.
As the main scientific institution the Institute participates also in the Slovenci.si project, a common on-line platform for Slovenians abroad since 2008.
