Programme
Aiming to explore the nature of street interventions and to advocate for the free use of public space, the Ana Desetnica festival runs a diversified international programme of street arts related events, ranging from theatre, circus and dance performances, live sculptures, site-specific and site-generic performances and installations to different workshops and initiatives for international cooperation. Offering ample opportunities to young practitioners to show their work and network, the festival supports the development of original theatre forms and encourages experimentation within the disciplines. Of the 250 to 400 artists who participate in the festival, 60% are international guests who travel short and long distances from their countries to perform in Slovenia in front of audiences that total around 40,000 people each year. Since 1996, part of the festival's programme also appears at Lent Festival in Maribor.

Ana Desetnica regularly engages in international networking and co-production projects at the European level, through its participation in the projects Circostrada, Eunetstar, and Meridians, whose combined member organisations represent over 30 countries, thus offering opportunities to Slovenian practitioners to tour abroad and share their knowledge and expertise of the field.
Ana Destnica Festival has recently launched an award for outstanding achievements in street theatre, called "urbANA ljubljANA", in partnership with Mirabilia Circus & Performing Arts Festival.
Festival offspring – Ana Mraz and Ana Plamenita
Since 2000 Ana Monró Theatre, in cooperation with the Ljubljana Tourist Board, organises performances and other street art related events also during the winter holiday season. In the frame of Ana Mraz (in English: Ana Frost) it presents its newest productions in the Ljubljana city centre just before New Year's, and also invites different domestic and international groups and authors. Part of the programme is also presented in Maribor and Radovljica.
In 2009, Ana Monró Theatre launched Ana Plamenita (in English: Ana Blaze), a festival of night and fire ambiances, focusing on fire and light installations and interventions that turn the ignored corners of the city into magical ambiances. From 2013 to 2016, Ana Plamenita was organised also in Maribor, where it was run by Narodni dom Maribor and House! Society for People and Spaces.
