The library in Ribnica was founded in 1946 but only acquired proper premises in 1991 within the restored Mikl House. Today the 307 square-metre library houses a collection of around 35,000 items and has more than 3,700 registered readers. The library has an 18-seat reading room and runs two branches in Sodražica and Loški potok respectively. Mikel House Library, Ribnica co-operates closely with the Mikel House Gallery, organising concerts, literary evenings, exhibitions, lectures and also events for children.
