Follow the white rabbit, a lecture by Bogdan Benigar, director of the Ljubljana Jazz Festival, at the European Jazz Conference
Ljubljana Jazz Festival began life in 1960 as Yugoslavian Jazz Festival. For the first six years it took place in Bled and in 1967 moved to Ljubljana to Tivoli Hall, later moving to Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre. It presents the most eminent European, African and American jazz musicians. Many open air or interdisciplinary events accompany the festival, including street performances, film music events at the Slovenian Cinematheque in co-operation with the Cinema-ear, exhibitions of film posters or jazz photography and open-air concerts by the jazz ensemble of Ljubljana Music and Ballet Secondary School.
Ljubljana Jazz Festival co-operates closely with Izzven Jazz Festival, Maribor and Jazz Cerkno Festival.
