The Social Activities Department of Tržič Municipality deals with governance, professional and developmental tasks related to education, science, culture, sport and research activities. It is involved in the development of cultural heritage programmes and implementation of public cultural commissions.
The local branches of the Union of Cultural Societies of Slovenia (ZKDS) and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia (JSKD) facilitate the activities of around 14 local cultural organisations with over 550 members and act as mediators in respect of state and municipal funding.
