Established in 1991 and located in the old Ljubljana, Zala Gallery is a commercial gallery which sells works by Slovene painters, ranging from Impressionist (Jakopič, Jama, Grohar, etc.) through modernist as Emerik Bernard, Nikolaj Beer or Zdenko Huzjan to the representative of the young generation Boštjan Jurečič to name just some of them from the list of almost 50 artists.


Programme

Zala Gallery runs also a regular exhibition programme of up to 3 exhibitions per year. In summer 2010 it presented the painting of the month: Girl with the Bouquet III [Deklica s šopkom III] of Gabrijel Stupica (1913 - 1990) that after years being in some collections in USA returned to Slovenia. Beside solo exhibitions of Janez Matelič and Jože Ciuha the gallery in 2009 featured solo exhibition of Andrej Jemec marking his 75th jubilee. In 2008 Jože Šubic and Zoran Mušič received solo presentations.

Every year the gallery organises a charity auction at the Rotary Club dance and issues a calendar with reproductions of art works.

Exhibition space

Dimensions: Room 1: 32m² (8m x 4m x 3.3m H) incorporating 25 linear metres of wall space; Room 2: 25m² (5m x 5m x 3.8m H) incorporating 20 linear metres of wall space; installation system: Nielsen hanging system; lighting: standard lights, halogen lighting system; climate control: heating only; security: security system installed; sales policy: sales permitted (% by appointment)
