A series of international lectures deals with a range of topics, including the work of the European Booksellers' Federation, the issue of copyrights in the age of electronic publishing, the history of the book trade and publishing in Europe, etc. The main topic under discussion at the 21st Publishing Academy of 2005 was cooperation between smaller publishers. The event featured lectures by foreign experts, with American Robert Baensch as keynote speaker, and a discussion on publishing in an era of globalisation. A recent academy tackled the issues of contemporary publishing (e-books and print on demand) with lectures by Iain Stevenson, David Prescott, Rüdiger Wischenbart, and Nives Tomašević.
