The journal with an international advisory board publishes detailed analyses of Slavic mythopoetic traditions, and comparative studies on the mythology and religious notions of older Slavic, Eurasian and other civilisations. The character of the publication is both international and interdisciplinary, covering themes from the field of ethnology, philology, history, archaeology, religious studies, history of literature, and philosophy.
The published articles of each edition are available at the archive on their website. The articles. contents and texts are published in English or with summary in English.
Book Series
Since 2004 the journal publishes book series Studia Mythologica Slavica – Supplementa. So far, three monographies were published: Mordovian Mythology (Devyatkina), Pioneers of Jewish ethnography and folklore studies in Eastern Europe (Bar-Itzhak) and Mirila/A Cultural Phenomenon (Pleterski, et al.).
