Changing the name of the article

Sadar-Vuga Arhitekti should be written Sadar Vuga Arhitekti or Sadar Vuga Architects, for it is most commonly used; also at their related pages. On the other hand authors themselves (and them only) use the SADAR + VUGA naming, stated also in the "contact" section at their website.

"Formulas state concepts is the graphic outline of main ideas or characteristics, applied to SVA architectural products. They use them as the communicational tool in the office through the working process, in discussions with the client and presentations to the public."

Hi Jana, S+V use simple yet narrative graphic images in order to point out main characteristics of every project. These small black and white images are called formulas and present the idea of every building or project in a graphic way. S+V use them in the office to "tag" every project, i.e. type of the façade, type of the roof, a building block, etc. It is quite difficult to explain it much different than written; I've been to their lecture once and have seen it... Simultaneously, the office collaborated at designing several professionally acclaimed realisations at home, such as the Cultural Center of EU Space Technologies (Vitanje, 2012, together with Bevk Perović, Dekleva Gregorič and OFIS arhitekti) and the renovation of Slovenska boulevard (Ljubljana, 2015, together with Dekleva Gregorič, Katušič Kockbek arhitekti, Scapelab and Studio Krištof).

during the 20 years since the office was established. In the beginning, we were preoccupied with the creation of public space – within government buildings, private residences and open space. Now, while still focusing on the public-private duality within our projects, we are more excited with the specifics of architectural interventions within existing structures. Boštjan Vuga and I have started working together after winning the architectural competition for the new building for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. These were transitional, enthusiastic times, open to new social trends, and our projects really mirrored this enthusiasm. With the economic boom and subsequent transformation of Ljubljana into a metropolitan capital, we have worked on several large-scale projects, among which the Sports Park Stožice was the most complex in terms of program, scale and architecture. Sadly, it was completed only partially: the large commercial centre and the park, which would transform the otherwise professional sports grounds into one of Ljubljana’s largest leisure zones, still await their completion. Nowadays we seek commissions abroad as well: currently the first stage of our masterplan for Campus Schoonmeersen of College Ghent is being built, and the works on the reconstruction and adaptation of the abandoned construction site of the Home of Revolution in Nikšić, Montenegro, are to be commenced later in 2017.

Some of the major projects by SADAR + VUGA Architects span from - the the Central part of the National Gallery of Slovenia (2001) in Ljubljana, - and Mercator Shopping Centre in Nova Gorica to

- recently completed projects, which include residential buildings - Condominium Trnovski Pristan and the Gradaška Apartment House - which contributed to high quality urban living on the edge of Ljubljana city centre.

- For the project Villa Beli Križ in Portorož the studio received the Golden Pencil Award in 2009, awarded by the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) to the most notable projects of the past year.

- Among most recent projects are the Sports Park Stožice in Ljubljana (2010), at the time one of the biggest construction sites in Slovenia; and the Air Traffic Control Centre at the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport in Brnik, Slovenia.

For its projects the office has been awarded numerous prizes, such as Bauwelt Prize, Iconic Award, Archmarathon Award, Piranesi award and has been nominated for Mies van der Rohe Award eight times.

- The studio has won numerous awards, ones of greater importance are the Marcus Prize for Architecture (Milwaukee, USA, 2007) ; ECCS Steel Design Award in 2003 and 2001, and Bauwelt Prize granted in Berlin, Germany in 2001.

- SADAR + VUGA Architects were nominated for the prestigious Mies Van Der Rohe Award in 2001, 2003, and 2009, and - for the Iakov Chernikhov International Prize (Moscow, Russia) in 2008. - In 2008 the SVA studio was shortlisted at the World Architecture Festival taking place in Barcelona, Spain.
