[[Laško Principal Municipal Library]] was established in 1976 following the amalgamation of the libraries in Rimske Toplice and Radeče. It became a public institution (zavod) in 1996. At the outset the library had just 70 square metres, housing around 7,400 library units, but today it has 475 square metres and a collection of almost 60,000 library units. It has five employees and around 3,300 registered readers who borrow 119,005 books each year. The library has been organising special events since the 1980s, and nowadays it organises around 200 events each year for children (meetings with writers, exhibitions, fairy tale readings, bibliopedagogical work, etc) and some 30 events (mainly lectures) for adults. The library has published various materials about local people and events. Visitors have access to databases via eight computer terminals. Laško Library has branches in both Rimske Toplice and Radeče.
