Miran Jarc Library in Novo mesto functions as the regional library for South East Slovenia. The Library was founded in 1946 as a regional study library and is currently the main library in the Novo mesto area. Financial support is given by Novo mesto Urban Municipality and the [[Ministry of Culture]] of Slovenia. The 1,733 square-metre library incorporates a 70-seat reading room. The Library functions both as a traditional library and as a multimedia information centre for the school population and other communities living in the region.
