The journal is published at least twice a year as a double issue by the Slovene Society of Researchers in the School Field and the Educational Research Institute (ERI), Ljubljana. The aim of the journal is to situate the issue of education in the context of contemporary theoretical debates by questioning its usual boundaries, and to discuss general concepts that correspond to current social changes and the development of educational theory.
The journal extends the theorisation of educational policy in its various dimensions, challenging the coherence of confinements and the borders of established institutional structures, subjects and imposed disciplinary forms. In the past the discussed topics included: 'Aristotle on the Necessity of Public Education', 'Redefining Citizenship Education: Common Parallels and Challenges', 'Human Rights, Inclusion and Education' and 'Citizenship Education and Political Theory: Reflections in Language'. In 2010 the journal explored the strategies relating to childhood, school institutions and education.
