The Vicious Cat Awards are presented annually at the Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival in Ljutomer. The Vicious Cat [Hudi maček] Award is bestowed for best feature film and for the wine champion of the festival, while the Honorary Vicious Cat Award [Častni hudi maček] honours someone's lifetime achievements (since 2007 the award winners have been Slobodan Šijan, Roger Corman, Ruggero Deodato, Sam Firstenberg, Christina Lindberg and others).

In 2008 the Slak's Vicious Cat [Slakov hudi maček] Award for the best short film was introduced and named after the Slovene film director Franci Slak (1953–2007) who had been actively involved at the festival since its inception.
