The library maintains a local collection department, which features literature and other material on the region. It also houses a reading room that seats 77 people. In addition, library-goers may take part in a number of activities and events: book clubs, a literary café, where talks are held on authors and their works, story-telling hours, philosophy lectures, exhibitions, workshops, puppet shows, etc. Materials are made easily accessible to special needs individuals by way of electronic magnifying lenses, audio books, and a device for optimal sound reception intended for hard of hearing members. A lifelong learning point is located in the library. In cooperation with UNICEF, a safe point is set up in the library premises, where children in distress can find support or shelter.
