Background
The international conference Piran days of Architecture is an important meeting of architects, students of architecture and amateurs from Central Europe. It presents significant contribution for promotion of Slovene architecture in the context of a broader European space, meanwhile offering a platform for effective cooperation of architects, economists and politicians. The lectures present fresh approaches to the problems of contemporary architecture and urbanism, and the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.
On the initiative of Prof. Vojteh Ravnikar, the prior president and "spiritus agens" of the event, the new organisation comitee took over the Piran Days of Architecture in 2008.

Recent themes of the seminar have included Between the Rational and the Irrational in Architecture (2003), Architect and Society (2004) , Architectural Policies (2005), ‘’Exhibited Architecture'’ (2006), PDA - 25 years of architecture (2007), Architectural Diversity (2008), and New Challenges (2009).
