Originally established by Plečnik, [[Križanke International Art Colony]] was re-established in 1998 and is currently run by [[Festival Ljubljana]]. Every year eight selected artists - four Slovene and four international, selected from the fields such as painting, sculpture and multimedia art create new works at the summer festival venue in [[Križanke]], with performing arts events also being an inspiration for the colony's participants. Completed works are exhibited at Križanke until the [[Ljubljana Summer Festival]] is over. Up to 2004 around 50 artists had participated at the colony. Selected works from past colonies remain in the Festival Ljubljana collection, and since 2005 each colony has been followed by a touring exhibition.

The International Fine Arts Colony Križanke was established in 1998 and is run by Festival Ljubljana. Every year eight selected painters (four Slovene and four international) create new works at the summer festival outdoor venue in Križanke, with performing arts events also being an inspiration for the colony's participants. Completed works are exhibited at Ljubljana Castle until the Ljubljana Summer Festival is over.
