Venues
Since 2004 the museum manages heritage collections from the region: in Jesenice Iron-making, Mining and Palaeontologic Collection in Bucellini-Ruard Mansion, Ethnological Collection in Kasarna, Kos Manor House; in Rateče Kajžnik Manor House, in Kranjska Gora Liznjek House, and in Mojstrana Slovenian Alpine Museum.
Collections
The museum manages many different collections at dislocated units: art history collection of ecclesiastic and ironworks motives by Nicola Grassi, Janez Potočnik, Anton Karinger, Heinrich Wettach, …; history collection of iron-making and of mountaineering; ethnological collection; cultural history collection; geological and paleontological collection.
Exhibitions
Beside the permanent collection museum organises temporary exhibitions out of its collections and cooperates with institutions from home and abroad.
Publishing
The museum publishes many monographies on different local topics concerning history of places, people habits, and industrial heritage, i.e. in 2009 monography on history of KID (Kranjska Industrial Society). The exhibitions are accompanied by catalogues.
