Background
The library was founded side by side with the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana in 1972 to focus on collecting material in the areas of the Architecture Museum's research and subjects of its departments. At first the library was located at the Plečnik House at Karunova street 4 in Ljubljana, in 1992 most of the library material was moved together with the museum to Fužine Castle, keeping only the Plečnik library at the old address.
