{{Teaser| The Directors Guild of Slovenia was founded as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation in 2005, on the 100th anniversary of Slovene film. Prior to its establishment, Slovene film directors made up a section of the Association of Slovenian Filmmakers.
The association unites Slovene professional film directors of all generations and aims at achieving better conditions for activities, encouraging directors to produce individual, free and creative work for presentation to both local and international audiences.
International Activities
The association co-operates with other Slovene professional associations (for writers, composers, etc.) and represents Slovene directors in the Federation of European Film Directors (FERA) that unites professional association from 31 countries.
In January 2015 the Directors Guild of Slovenia in collaboration with the AIPA hosted the FERA workshop on collective right management entitled What Do Directors Want From Their Collective Management Organizations?. In June 2015 the FERA General Assembly took place in Ljubljana and Bled.
