A jury of theatre experts selects the best performance from the festival's programme which is chosen by the annual selector of the Week of Slovenian Drama. Generally, 5 to 7 performances compete for the prize. The 2009 Šeligo Award was awarded to the Slovene National Theatre (SNG) Ljubljana - Drama for the performance The Conqueror [Osvajalec] (2008), directed by Dušan Jovanović.
