The first purpose-built art residency centre in Slovenia, this multifunctional building houses artists' studios equipped with facilities for drawing, painting, woodcarving, sculpting in stone and metalwork. An art foundry for casting into sand, cast moulds and ceramics was built recently. The resulting works can be exhibited temporarily in the dining room or in the studios themselves. |

Since Spring 2007 the Art Centre has been closed in line with a local government decision. Several protests have been lodged. In the meanwhile the Art Središče Institute and its crew are operating the Atelje Azil [Asylum Studio] at Metelkova mesto Autonomous Cultural Centre in collaboration with the KUD Mreža Arts and Culture Association.
