Officially established in 2005, the activities of the Art Stays Cultural Association (Ptuj, Kidričevo) root in the ambitions of young representatives of the local art scene putting Ptuj, one of the most impressive Slovene towns of the medieval, but also Roman heritage, on the international map of contemporary arts by inviting protagonists of the art world from abroad and other parts of Slovenia. The first activities of the Art Stays realised before the official establishing of the association were featured in the Tenzor Gallery and ex-FO.VI Gallery in Ptuj. Since 2003 the Association also regularly organises the summer festival in Ptuj, today named Art Stays, International Festival of Contemporary Art.
