Since 2003, the Faculty of Arts Bookshop [Knjigarna Filozofske fakultete], has been successfully selling the publications of the Faculty of Arts in various ways – mostly at the Faculty, through the website, where a complete catalogue of the publications of the Faculty of Arts can be found, and more widely in book stores all over Slovenia and in neighbouring countries in areas where ethnic Slovenes live.

Since 2008 it has been an independent organisational unit which co-operates with the Academic Publishing Division of the Faculty of Arts with regard to realising and organising book sales. Together with the Academic Publishing Division, it organises promotional campaigns – press conferences and fairs – by which it importantly contributes to the promotion and recognition of the scientific and pedagogical work of the staff of the Faculty of Arts.

The Book Store is not limited to only its basic activity but is also a site of creative meetings and various cultural events (literary events, recitals, debate clubs, exhibitions of paintings, photographs, caricatures, etc.) which have been dubbed Word Station. The Book Store was also the initiator of the organisation of an all-Slovene academic book fair, which was held for the first time in 2010 when Ljubljana was the World Capital of Books.
