Since 2008 the bookshop has been an independent organisational unit which co-operates with the Academic Publishing Division of the Faculty of Arts with regard to realise and organise book sales. Together with the Academic Publishing Division, it organises promotional campaigns – press conferences and fairs – with which it importantly contributes to the promotion and recognition of the scientific and pedagogical work of the staff of the Faculty of Arts.
The Bookshop is not only limited to its primary activities but is also a venue for creative meetings and various cultural events (literary events, recitals, debate clubs, exhibitions of paintings, photo exhibitions, caricatures, etc.), which have been dubbed Word Station.
