The task of the [[Association of Slovene Music Schools]] (ZSGŠ) is to secure nationwide standards and develop infrastructures for the work of its member music schools, such as curriculum development, organisational assistance and further training. It has closely collaborated with the [[Ministry of Education and Sport]], the Education Institute (Zavod za šolstvo) and other related organisations to conceive modification and elaboration of the umbrella act about governance of the music schools, passed in Spring 2000. Members of the Association participate in the national committees entrusted with the elaboration of new school curricula and co-operate with the [[Academy of Music]], the Association of Principals of Elementary Schools, the [[Society of Slovene Composers]] and other organisations in the training of teachers and principals. The Association also collaborates with [[Commission for Music and Ballet Competitions (TEMSIG)]] to improve national competition rules. The Association organises educational trips in order to get acquainted with overseas educational systems.
