Established in 2010 in Ljubljana, the EnaBanda Association (formerly known as Smehomat) is a non-profit organisation that engages in artivism (public installations, ecology art projects, social critique and cultural activism) and audio-visual production. Multimedia projects address diverse issues of cultural creation and contemporary society. All are well documented on the association website.

EnaBanda is a flexible platform consisting mostly of a younger generation of artists, activists and media freelancers with diverse professional backgrounds and experience.

Artivism

EnaBanda integrates cultural practices and social activism into artivism, i.e. engaged and critical art practices that open up or create a new space for interactions with people and environments.

One of the earliest project was Marko Kumer's growing poetry: in the Robba Fountain next to Ljubljana Town Hall the verse of Slovene poet Dane Zajc Dež groze pada na moje oči ("The rain of terror is falling on my face") was grown.

In June 2011 the eco-installation entitle Air was created in the centre of Šoštanj to raise awareness about the problem of air pollution and the issues related to the building of the Unit 6 of the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant.

Another project was Miša Gams's intervention into public space entitled Garbage Poetry, presented in Maribor within the 2012 European Capital of Culture programme.

Audio-visual production

The film Zelena utopija [Green Utopy], which deals with the urban community eco-gardening, was shown at the Festival of Slovenian Film in 2013. Na robu odra [The Border of the Stage] is a documentary about a small theatre community with a huge social impact. One of the latest international projects was a video poetry experimental film about a young Belgian artist Bardthesque Jaques.

LifeTouch video production

In 2012 EnaBanda Association was involved in the LifeTouch programme strand of the Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012 programme as an AV documentation team that covered various aspects of the rich programme turning it into a lasting document.

The Living legends project presents 16 unique personalities through their original stories on almost forgotten traditional professions and crafts. LifeTouch video team provided a multi-faceted insight into everyday life and work, thus restoring some intangible heritage of the Eastern region of Slovenia (Prekmurje, Slovenj Gradec, Maribor, Novo mesto, and the Šalek Valley). The Living legends exhibition presented the whole research and multimedia project post festum at the K8 Gallery in Maribor, while the videos were shown at the Kino Otok - Isola Cinema Festival and abroad (two times in Beijing). The 16 records are available also on DVD.

EnaBanda produced also a documentary on Guimarães, which was along Maribor one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2012. 5 Pieces of Heart delved into the five topics: passion, fear, culture, laziness and oddity.

Stand-up comedy documentation

EnaBanda Association has produced two documentaries about the stand-up comedy: Leto [A Year], is an experimental work by Perica Jerković whose video diary outlines a brief history of stand-up comedy, while Romanian tempo documents the stand-up comedians Balkan journey.

Last but not the least: EnaBanda Association is an open platform for stand-up comedy authors Perica Jerković, Andrej Colarič - Cole, Klemen Bučan and Marko Kumer - Murč who were engaged as Komikaze group in the period 2007–2010.

EnaBanda has organised several stand-up comedy workshops for Bosnian immigrant community.
