Originally established in 1913, the Logatec Brass Orchestra was revived in the 1990s and received two Golden Plaques at the International Competition of Brass Orchestras in Ostrava, Czech Republic in 1995 and 2001. It was also awarded the Golden Plaque at the National Competition of Concert Playing in Velenje in 2003 and at the International Competition of Concert Playing in Velenje in 2004, where 12 orchestras from Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia competed. The Orchestra won the Golden Plaque and the 3rd place at the Slovene Competition of Concert Groups in 2006, while it participated at the biggest international brass orchestra competition Mid Europe in Schladming. In 2007 they got the 2nd prize in the Excellence group at the international competition Flicorno D'oro.
The Orchestra's CD Africa includes compositions by Mojmir Sepe, John Warrington, Kees Vlak, Nicolai Rimsky Korsakov, Pavel Stanek, Josef Zawinul, David Clayton Thomas, Robert W Smith, George Gershwin and Henk Van Lijschooten, and its second CD features a live concert by Logatec Brass Orchestra in the Slovene Philharmonics Halls.
