The Youth Centre for Cultural Activities Maribor (MKC) was established in 1993 by Maribor Urban Municipality. It is a public institution, designed to stimulate, develop and mediate the activities of young people in the field of arts. MKC's activities include computer and cybernetic arts, literature, theatre and dance art, plastic arts, multicultural art, video, film and photography, music, non-profit management and production. Its most important and oldest projects are the No Border Jam Festival and the International Festival of Computer Arts (IFCA), it participates also in the Slovene Book Days and organises the Ethno Concert Cycles and the Performa Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. MKC Maribor also runs the Media Nox Gallery where public performances - exhibitions, projections, concerts, workshops, lectures and readings take place, and the new venue Kulturni Inkubator dedicated to intermedia projects, comics and cartoons presentation.
