Literatura Literary Artistic Association was established in 1989 to manage the newly-autonomous Literatura magazine. In the following year the Association also began publishing books.

Collections published since that time include: Novi pristopi ('New Approaches'), which presents original Slovene essay and theory texts; and Labirinti ('Labyrints'), featuring translations of J. L. Borges, G. Deleuze, F. Guattari (Kafka), Paul de Man and Gianni Vattimo. It has also published various short stories by Slovene authors, including Noč v Ljubljana ('Evening in Ljubljana'), based on a historical event: the night that James Joyce spent at the railway station in Ljubljana.

The Association is also active in organising literature events and talks, workshops on literature critique and poetry slaming. On the occasion of the World Book Capital Ljubljana 2010 the workshop on writing a radio play will be organised from September till March 2010.
