In the area of copyright law, the Office is competent to issue licences to authors' organisations authorising them to jointly enforce copyright, and to supervise their activities. In addition to its administrative tasks, it also drafts legislation in the area of intellectual property and represents the government in the management bodies of the World Organisation for Intellectual Property and in the Council for TRIP within the World Trade Organisation. The Office also includes a Conciliation Committee for settling disputes between employers and employees relating to intellectual property rights.
