Overview
Exodos Institute has been registered as a non-for-profit cultural institution with the aim of producing the Exodos International Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, a prestigious event which has been taking place in Ljubljana since 1995 and which during the 15 years of activity presented numerous resounding performances by foreign artists. A sudden cut of financial support the Exodos Festival had to be temporarily transformed into other forms: art educational practices (eg Coaching workshop) and international co-productions of stage performances. Up to 2007 Exodos institute produced or co-produced 14 performances by Slovene and international authors (Matej Kejžar, Ivan Peternelj, Leja Jurešič, Boštjan Antončič, Jurij Konjar, Gabrielle Nankivell, Ana Stegnar, Magdalena Reiter, Damjana Černe). Exodos Institute is a member of several international networks, including the Informal European Theatre Meeting (IETM), Festivals in Transition (FIT), European Dance Education Network (DANCE) and the Trans Danse Europe network of production houses.
