Džjezz, International jazz festival Celje

Frequencyannual
Festival dates6.6.2015 – 13.6.2015

Džjezz Festival was launched in 2009 in Celje by the than newly opened House of Culture Celje institute. It was built on the legacy of regular jazz concerts that the city of Celje has been hosting up until then (and, now under the name Džjezz do it in Art kino Metropol Celje, still is) and is meant to broaden the scope of musical concerts in Celje and to facilitate further creative developments in the region. While the core concerts of the festival are currently taking place in the so called Lapidarium at the Savinja river bank, that is only transitional, as the festival and its additional programme regularly moves and has up until now been spaced out throughout the city and hosted by a number of different venues.

Some of the musicians hosted by this festival are Simone Zanchini (ITA), Danny Grissette Trio (USA), Francesco Cafiso Duo (ITA), Enrica Bacchia & Massimo Zemolin (ITA), Will Vinson group (USA) and a number of highly profiled Slovene musicians and bands such as Big Band Krško, Robert Jukič Group, Jani Moder, Jadranka Juras & Milan Stanisavljević, Kaja Draksler Quintet and Jure Pukl NYC Quintet.
