GVR is an institute for contemporary multimedia, visual, and performing art established in 1992 by Vlado Repnik. A vehicle for the work of the theatre director and multimedia artist Vlado Repnik, the institute recently increasingly focuses on the production of internet and intermedia projects. GVR's most recent production is the performance Evergreen - Comments on Media [Evergreen - komentarji o medijih] (2009), co-produced by Intima Virtual Base, Bunker Institute, and Eẋ Ponto International Festival.

Selected projects include Helios, 1988 (together with Bojan Jablanovec and Aljoša Kolenc); Brigades of Beauty, 1990 (Evrokaz Festival, Zagreb); Walter Wolf, 1993; Gertrude Stein, 1994 (Pula Festival, Prague Quadriennal 1995); Lighty Tiny Bird on Tiny Branch, 1996; Apolonija (Grenze am Fluss, Bad Radkesburg, Austria) 1998; I tempi passati, 1999; To Bee or Not to Bee, 2000; Human Rights, 2001 (Cassandra - staged in Madrid, Lisabon, Rome); Gfest, 2002; Back Unit, a fairy tale 2002-2004; The Minotaure Song, 2004; net project, 2004; and the intermedia project Mary, Piss on Takashi Please! in collaboration with Klančnik and Štromajer of Intima Virtual Base, staged in March 2005 at Museum of Modern Art. In 2006 the Theatre Protocol installation was exhibited in the Kapelica Gallery in Ljubljana and the All about Lessoto project presented at KIBLA Multimedia Centre in Maribor.

The name GVR is not translatable but is expressed by the group as a multitude of linguistic associations in a variety of languages, for example G = Gorgonsole = Gallery = Gotvan = Gledališče (Theatre) = Grizli = Gloksinia = G-spot, V = Virtual = Vade (mecum) = Vdor Intrusion = Vegetarian = Velarius = Vulva = Vaquero, R = Real...
