The Sculpture Association as the follower of the Latobia gallery was founded in 2002 as non profit organisation with the aim of helping artists to realise and promote their sculpture projects — beside presentations in their space, in the open-air location and as a guest in other institutions, it also operates in the field of the art market. It acts also as a publisher. Its members are established and young mostly Slovene sculptures.

Programme

On the sculpture oriented association operates on two locations in Ljubljana. It runs the open-air Gruber Sculpture Gallery in front of the Gruber Palace (the headquarters of the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia (ARS)), where is featuring annual at least one exhibition lasting several months. In 2009 it presented the project dLAN of Darko Golija from Maribor, where he works also as professor of sculpture at the Faculty of Education, University of Maribor. His colleague from Ljubljana the sculpturer Alen Ožbolt, head of the Department of Sculpture, Academy of Fine Arts and Design, presented his latest works entitled Ensembles – Prostorski rebusi/Kamen na nebu at Gruber Sculpture Gallery in 2008.

The second venue of the Sculpture Association is on Križevniška 2. After the renovation in October 2009 this is the space for presentation of solo and group exhibitions of its members. The very first presentation of the renovated space was saleable oriented and presented graphics, paintings and sculptures created by its members. In March 2010 it exhibited sculptures from the series the Summer [Poletje] of Jiři Bezlaj. It presented also from them published monograph of Bezlaj with texts of Petja Grafenauer, Miklavž Komelj and Janko Rožič.

On the beginning the Association had two open-air galleries, one in Ljubljana (Gruber Sculpture Gallery in front of the Gruber Palace, National Archive, in Ljubljana) and the other in Maribor, where open-air exhibitions are organised every year. Kri#evniska
