Svarog - Club for Independent Film

Svarog - Club for Independent Film is a club established in Piran-Pirano in 2004 with the aim of stimulating film creativity among young people. Its main task is the production of independent films. Svarog also organises workshops and others film related events. Among the films that it produced are Martin Marzidovšek's first short film Der Bericht [The Report] (2004), which was shot in Heidelberg and later presented in Germany, Hungary and Slovenia, (s)prehod (2006) and In the Shadow, both by Martin Marzidovšek and Matej Vatovec.
Workshops and camps
In December 2004 Svarog organised the 4-day film workshop Švenk at Villa Moretini in Ankaran, with film director Franci Slak and cinematographer Radovan Čok as guest tutors. Svarog is a member of the Film Union of Slovenia. In 2008 Svarog organised International Talent Campus Piran 2008 and the films, made during the workshop were screened at the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe).
