A Concert by the Renowned Pianist Alexander Gadjiev

At the end of October, the internationally renowned pianist Alexander Gadjiev , who lives in Berlin , was the first Slovenian pianist to convince the jury of 17 at the demanding Frederic Chopin Competition in Warsaw , where he took second place. The pianist was born in Gorizia, Italy, on the border with Slovenia, and grew up in a border area where different languages ​​and cultural currents intersect.

In 2025 Gadjiev will be cultural ambassador of Gorizia/Nova Gorica when the cities will be European Capitals of Culture. In 2023, on the occasion of the Slovenian cultural festival on February 8, he will receive the Prešeren Fund award, the highest award for artists in Slovenia, from the hands of the President of the Republic.

He will play versions of various works by Chopin ( Préludes Op. 28 ) and Mussorgsky ( Pictures at an Exhibition ). After the concert there will be a talk with the artist, followed by a reception .
